ROBERT COLEY THOMAS, age 86, of Smyrna, Tn. died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Peachtree Nursing Center. He was born in Milan, Tennessee and was the son of the late Walter L. & Pauline Moore Thomas. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Marjorie Jones Thomas; son, Robert L. Thomas and his wife, Melinda of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter, Julia Thomas Wimpee, Murfreesboro; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 4 pm Sunday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Rev. Carl Scarlett officiating. Burial will follow at 11 am Monday at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation with the family will be from 2-4 pm Sunday. Mr. Thomas was a member of Miracle Baptist Church and a retired engineer with Georgia Gulf. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
