Robert Joseph Parker, age 80, of Murfreesboro; beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 following an extended illness. Mr. Parker is the son of the late Richard V. and Jessie Thomas Parker. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Roy, Edward, Wallace and Marvin Parker; and beloved sister Kathleen Parker Edwards. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 61 years Faye Clark Parker; daughter Kathy Parker Stem and her husband Randall of Murfreesboro; two grandsons Jeffrey Stem of Panama City Beach, FL, and Dustin Stem and his wife Christa of Murfreesboro; two great-grandsons Carter and Parker Stem of Panama City Beach, FL; and soon to be great-granddaughter Sadie Elizabeth Stem of Murfreesboro. He was an active member of Franklin Road Baptist Church, serving as an usher and in the bus ministry. Mr. Parker retired from Clark Iron and Metal Company in 1998 after 34 years of service. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro. Pastor Mike Norris will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will 4:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, or Alive Hospice.
