Mr. Robert Loyd McAvoy, age 78, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019. He was born in Washington, Georgia to the late Lloyd Tucker McAvoy and Mary Bernice Combs McAvoy. Mr. McAvoy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a mason in the Middle Tennessee area. Mr. McAvoy took delight in spending time with his grandchildren. He had a special bond with Kizher.

Mr. McAvoy is survived by his sons, Brad McAvoy and his wife Brooke of Smyrna and Daniel McAvoy and his wife Heather of Murfreesboro; mother of his children, Betty Hammond; grandchildren, Chaslynn Garrett, Brittany McAvoy, GraceAnn McAvoy, Linde McAvoy, Lynnlee Reed, and Kizher Reed; great-granddaughter, Vivian McAvoy; siblings, Carolyn Alexander of Murfreesboro, Gail Galbreath of Georgia, and Ronnie McAvoy of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale McAvoy; grandson, Sawyer McAvoy; two brothers, Jerry McAvoy and Michael McAvoy; and a great-grandson, Alexander Romeo Taylor.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
