Robert Lee

Mr. Robert Kelley Lee, Jr., age 90, of Smyrna, TN passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Smyrna and son of the late Robert Kelly Lee, Sr and Nannie Ada Burgess Lee. Mr. Lee was a 1955 graduate of Smyrna High School. He went on to work as a lineman for TDS Telecom for over 30 years. Mr. Lee used his pole climbing skills outside of work to change the lights in the stadium for what is now Smyrna Middle School. He enjoyed working with horses and being involved in wagon trains. Mr. Lee took pride in working the land, baling hay and tending to his vegetable garden.

Mr. Lee is survived by his daughters, Regina Williams and her husband Nathan and Robin Vondohlen and her husband Chris; grandchildren, David Williams and his wife Delilah, Chase Vondohlen, and Brett Vondohlen; great grandchildren, Mason and Hunter; sister, Peggy Richards; a host of nieces and nephews; and equine companions, Luke and Lacey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Rebecca “Sissy” Lee.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to Kedron United Methodist Church, 6650 Kedron Church Rd, Smyrna, TN 37167 in memory of Mr. Lee.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 3:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.
