Robert Byron LaMastus, 79, died Wednesday, February 22 at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL, following a short illness.

Bob was born August 25, 1937 in Cromwell, KY, the son of the late Hudnall LaMastus and Orianona Porter LaMastus. In 1954, he graduated from Evansville Central High School in Evansville, IN but spent most of his life in Kentucky and Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1957 to 1959. He was self-employed and retired from Mid-South Credit Bureau in 2000.

Bob loved many things including travel, golf, bowling, playing bridge, and watching a good college game on TV. He was a Christian and active in spreading the gospel. He attended mission trips to Brazil; taught bible study to inmates; and volunteered with Gideon's International.

Bob is survived by his wife, Judy Hillman of Murfreesboro, TN; his brother James LaMastus (Bonnie) of Indianapolis, IN; his three children, Holly LaMastus Kurz (Michael) of Berkeley Heights, NJ, Tracy LaMastus (David Nields) of Bradenton, FL, and Robert LaMastus (Leslie Price) of Plano, TX; step-children, Dee Watson (Lee) of Jackson, Judy Downing (Mark) of Dyersburg, Lee Birl of Jackson, Steve Birl (Leslie) of Henderson; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, a niece, a nephew, several cousins, and many friends.

Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN. Deacon Pete Semich and Dr. Jim Clardy will officiate. Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Sunday in the Highland Memorial Gardens, 3360 N. Highland Ave., Jackson, TN.
