Robert Nolan Hughey, "Bob", went on to be with his Lord and Savior, April 19, 2016, at the age of 79.  Born December 22, 1936 to Paul Martin Hughey and Faye Rena Smith Hughey, in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Married to Peggy Joyce McLemore on April 7, 1956, Bob was a faithful husband to Peggy for 60 years.  He was a revered father to Nolan Hughey (Angela), currently of Lascassas, Tennessee, and a beloved Grandfather to Christine Brooks (George) of Franklin, Tennessee, Amanda Sloan (Kyle) of North Richland Hills, Texas, Joshua Hughey of Gresham, Oregon, Jacob Hughey of Smyrna, Tennessee, and three great grandchildren.  He is survived by all of these as well as his wife, Peggy, and sister, Darlene Hughey Willingham (Billy), Smithville, Tennessee.

Bob received an Associate degree from Freed Hardeman College in 1956 and worked his way into management at the Stevens-Adamson Manufacturing company, first in Aurora, Illinois and then in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  While on vacation in Jerusalem in 1967, Bob was confronted with the reality of Jesus Christ, who shortly thereafter became his Lord and Master.  Bob returned to school and graduated from David Lipscomb College in 1969, Magna cum laude.  He then became personal work and youth group director at Vultee Church of Christ, Nashville, after which he went through a transformational intensive Bible study with Peggy.  In 1973 while waiting on God to direct, he received the call to manage the Koinonia Christian Bookstore & Coffeehouse in Nashville, Tennessee.  The 1980's saw Bob and Peggy move into a pastoral role at Christ's Chapel in Clarksville, Tennessee.  During this time he transitioned into his apostolic calling to the world at large, encouraging and witnessing everywhere he went.  This final phase of Bob's ministry took he and Peggy into more than 60 countries, where they never ceased to share the good news of Jesus the Messiah.

The family will host a memorial service in Bob's honor to be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday April 21, 2016 at the Stone's River Church of Christ, 1607 Hamilton Dr, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Illinois at 10:00 a.m., Saturday morning, April 23, 2016.
