ROBERT E. HAWK age 88 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Monday December 7, 2009. A native of Conquest, NY, he was the son of the late Harry and Stella Walters Hawk. Mr. Hawk is survived by wife of 67 years, Mary Ellen Forbes Hawk; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul E. and Carol A. Hawk of Auburn, NY, John E. and Norma L. Hawk of Smyrna, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Richard Pero of Fulton, NY, five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Raymond Hawk, and sister, Carrie Norris. Memorial services will be 1:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Joe Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Emerson Cemetery in Conquest, NY at a later date. Mr. Hawk was a farmer for 36 years in New York; moved to Tennessee in 1971 where he work for Henrys Heating and Cooling for three years; worked for Central Heat & Air for 15 years and retired at the age of 68. He was a member of Conquest Volunteer Fire Department, Property Tax Assessor for 8 years, a member of Town Council for Conquest. He was active in Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mr. Hawk may be made to Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
