Robert "Tommy" Jones Floyd, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. A native of Williamson County and Eagleville, he was a long-time resident of Smyrna, TN and was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Verna Floyd. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Christian Church in Smyrna. Rev. Marshall Gupton will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Earlene Pate Floyd; daughters, Paula Guinn and her husband Russell of Chattanooga and Patty Short and her husband Gerry of Smyrna; four grandchildren, Robbie Floyd and his wife Katrina of Chattanooga, Trenton Short and Tyler Short of Smyrna, and Josh Short and his wife Jamie of Memphis, TN; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Floyd was a member of Trinity Christian Church. He was the former owner and operator of P & B Market in Smyrna for many years. Mr. Floyd was a member of Sam Davis Masonic Lodge #661. He took great pride in putting out a large garden every year and would often share what he grew with his friends and neighbors. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials in memory of Mr. Floyd can be made to the Trinity Christian Church or to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna and Friday at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A masonic service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 p.m.
