Mr. Robert Cox, age 78, of LaVergne, TN passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015. He was born in Todd, NC to Blanche and Paul Allen Cox. Mr. Cox was a former employee of the Postal Service and was the Fuel Farm Manager at Nashville International Airport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo T. Cox, and his son, Bobby C. Cox, Jr. Mr. Cox proudly served his country in the United States Army and United States Air Force. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ann Cox; daughter, Sharon Powell and husband Bill of Petersburg; step-son, Bill Baird and wife Brenda of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Leah Gates of Murfreesboro, Alanna Morris and husband Christopher of Smyrna, Rebecca Cox of Richardson, TX, Allison Castro of Nashville, and J.W. Baird of Lebanon; and two great-grandchildren, Trinity Vandell of Smyrna and Stanley Cox of Richardson, TX. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 3:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
