Robert Bryant Cooper, age 81, of Lavergne, TN passed away Monday, January 2, 2012. A native of Auburntown, TN he was the son of the late Hudson and Clair Bell Tedder Cooper. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mai Cooper and Viola Davenport and three brothers, Joe Cooper, Clark Cooper and McNeil Cooper. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Wayne Dismuke will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Joyce Singleton Cooper; daughters, Audrey R. Kelley and Amy G. Cooper both of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren, Joe (Teresa) Staggs, Amanda (Jonathan) Turrell, Shelley Reder, Jason (Tabitha) Staggs, Brian (LeeAnn)Staggs all of Lewisburg,TN and Melissa Kelley of Murfreesboro; 15 great grandchildren; Brother, Earl David Cooper of Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Elizabeth Holder of Lewisburg, TN and Alta Sue Bryant of Auburntown, TN; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cooper was of the Southern Baptist Faith. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Cold War having served in both the United States Army and Air Force. He was retired with Textron Aerostructures Division as an Electrical Inspector/Aviation Planner. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday from 4:30PM to 8:30PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna. 459-3254
