Robert Eugene "Bob" Hayes, age 66 of Murfreesboro passed away Monday November 14, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and was the son of the late, Marvin and Ura Beatrice Lowe Hayes; he was also preceeded in death by his father-in-law, James Frizzell. Mr. Hayes was a member of the Church of Christ and a 1968 graduate of Central High School. He was a member of Tennessee Army National Guard, 450th Aviation Company from 1969 to 1974, and was employed as resident engineer with the Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department from 1973 to 1981. Mr. Hayes retired from Vought Aircraft Industries in 2006. After retiring he helped his two sons start
Hayes Bros Auto Care in Readyville, and Todd's Complete Auto Care in Murfreesboro.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Dianne Hayes; sons, Todd Hayes and wife Cassie, Taylor Hayes and wife Jenny; grandchildren, Courtney, Shelby, and Lillian Hayes; brother; David Hayes and wife Beverly; nieces and nephews, Emily and Jason Harper, Kimberly and Allen Daubenspeck, Jason and Karen Hayes; great-nieces and great-nephews, Caleb Hayes, Katelyn Harper, Colby Harper, Allie Dabney, Cameran Hayes, Lucas Daubenspeck and Jayden Hayes; mother-in-law, Allie Mae Frizzell
Family wishes to sincerely thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during our journey with dementia. The compassion, devotion, and care of Alive Hospice, Family Staffing Solutions, and Sharon Orr, were a true blessing and we are forever grateful. Graveside service with Military Honors will be 2:00PM Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery. Joe Brown, Joe Cross, Bud Mitchell and Tim Watts will officiate. Jason Hayes, Caleb Hayes, Jason Harper, Colby Harper, Allen Daubenspeck, Bryan Gilbert, Marty Gilbert, Russell Reedy, and Jared Thompson will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 3:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
