ROBERT THOMAS AMOS, SR, age 71, of Smyrna, died Monday, October 27, 2008. He was a native of Nashville, TN and the son of the late James Arliss and Zelah Aleta Herzinger Amos. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Bro. Terry Campbell will officiate. Interment will be 12 noon Thursday in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin, TN. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Jean Whitehead Amos, sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby and Brandi Amos, Jr. of Smyrna, Chris and Shelly Amos of Murfreesboro, daughter and son-in-law: Jenny and Mark Reiber of Gastonia, NC, brother: James D. Amos of Clarksville, sister: Virginia Brock Sawyer of Brentwood, grandchildren: Russ, Sydney, John Jr., and Emily Amos; Will, Olivia, and Brooks Reiber. Mr. Amos was owner and operator of Music City Rod Shop, Inc. and a member of Giles Creek Baptist Church. He was a 1955 graduate of West High School in Nashville, TN and a 1960 graduate of Belmont College. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Nichols, Jimmy Valentine, Allen Brock, Jim Amos, Tim Amos, Mark Reiber, Russ Amos, and John Amos. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.
