Rita Ellen Frizzell, age 56 of Nashville died Friday May 10, 2013, after fighting a long brave battle with cancer. She was a native of Rutherford County and was a member of First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville. Ms. Frizzell was a graduate of Tennessee Temple University with a major in Religious Education and a minor in Bible and Psychology. Ms. Frizzell trained extensively with Landmark Education, a global leader in the field of training and development. The programs of Landmark Education are designed to bring about a fundamental shift or transformation in what is possible in people's lives. She was a self-employed Graphic Design Artist and had formerly worked for Frank, Best, and Ingram Adverting Firm. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, T.P. "Doc" and Vera Looney Burns, William Xanton and Jimmie Lee Frizzell, beloved nephew Jordan Wayne Henderson, and former husband Steve Samford. She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Sarah Ellen Burns Frizzell; brother, Kenneth Lloyd Frizzell and wife Doris Crews Frizzell of Murfreesboro; long-time loving companion and rescued pet Stella, and a host of other family and friends. Ms. Frizzell formally danced with Steve Cates' Rutherford County Square Dancers, and was a volunteer of Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival since 1984.
