Mr. Rickey Ray Simmons, age 67, of Rockvale, TN passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his residence. He was a son of the late Howard Norman and Clara Belle Simmons. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Simmons. He was retired from General Motors and attended Midland Baptist Church. Rick is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Simmons; two daughters, Tina Posey and her husband Brian of Murfreesboro, Tonya Simmons and Eric DeBord of Murfreesboro; four granddaughters, Mary Posey, Alyssa Posey, Allyson DeBord, and Gabby DeBord; two sisters, Brenda Huffman and her husband Gordon and Janet Dishman and her husband Steve; aunt, Nita Shipman; parents-in-law, Ralph and Mary Pierce as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mike Anderson and Doug Mitchell will officiate. Burial will take place following the funeral at Evergreen Cemetery.
