Richard Wayne Newman, Sr., age 74, of Ashland City, TN died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was a native of Nashville, TN and the son of the late Samuel L. and Margret Dever Newman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Newman and son, Richard Wayne Newman, Jr. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the Celebration of Life at 2:00pm Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Donnie Norman of Smyrna, brothers, Walter "Buddy" Newman, Donald Newman, Larry Newman, sister, Kaye Spain, grandchildren, Michael Norman, Patricia Beasley, Jessica Jones and friend, Betty Waller. Mr. Newman served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a retired salesman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
