Richard Douglas Gleaves, III, age 66, died on Dec. 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard (Dick) Gleaves and Mollie Matheson Gleaves.

Doug is survived by his wife Sandra Gleaves, son Michael Gleaves, sisters Stephanie (Terry) Poteete of Franklin, TN, Beth (Clay) Smith of Gainesville, FL, and brother Andy (Nancy) Gleaves of Clarksville, TN.  He's also survived by granddaughters Kailyn Luczaj of Panama City, FL and Hailey Gleaves of Murfreesboro, TN, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as two very special Godsons, Jess Smith of Gainesville, FL, and Luke Martin of Murfreesboro.

He owned a home-based window covering business for 25 years - Discount Blinds Direct.  Doug enjoyed spending time with his wife and best friend Sandy, his granddaughters, singing in the choir at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, classical music, crossword puzzles and playing Bocce Ball with his buddies with the St. Rose Bocce Ball Club.  He was also a very talented guitarist.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Murfreesboro, at 10:30am on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 with the Reverends Colin Ambrose and Gene Wise officiating.  A reception and visitation with the family will follow after the service in the Parish Hall.
