January 31, 1945 – June 12, 2022
Richard "Dick" Henry Stickney III. age 77, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Alive Hospice.
He was the oldest Son of WWII. Veterans Richard H. and Kathleen "Kitty" Eva Sams Stickney of Murfreesboro.
He is survived by his wife Rae Lynn Whetzel Stickney; brother Tom and wife Cindy Stickney; Sons, Casey (Seanna) Stickney and Lee Stickney; Step children James (Emily) Bessant and Sharon Rose Bessant.
Richard was born in London, England on the 31st. of January 1945. His parents both served in WWII. Richard US Army and Kitty Royal A.F married and made their home on Murfree Ave. in Murfreesboro.
Richard talked of Good Memories of attending Mitchell-Neilson and Central High School. And growing up on Murfree Avenue.
He left a note on the Fridge "I have Joined the Navy" after High School. He was assigned to the Submarine Forces; He worked his way as a machinists mate up to a rank of 2nd. class Petty Officer. He literally got to see the World. When he came home he stayed with the occupation of Machinists working at several dealerships in Murfreesboro.
Richard can be described as a Man forever learning.
He retired from Aerostructures as a Tool/Design Engineer. He was a former Sen. Software Eng. and project manager at KTI.
He had the opportunity to study Artificial Intelligence at MIT
He loved being a Father, a Husband. He had a strong Faith and ministered the word. He was very proud of his Youth Ministry. He was a musician and a incredible talent for writing. An Actor with his Family at local Theaters. He loved the sunshine and you would find him outside enjoying it. He loved the View of the Ridge that he called his Home.
