Murfreesboro

Mr. Rex Alan Rich, age 60, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was born in Nashville, TN to Horace and Lila Knight Rich. Rex was a graduate of Oakland High School. He retired as maintenance planner at Pillsbury after 37 years where he was known for his sense of humor when pulling pranks on his coworkers. Rex was “Mr. Fix-It” to his neighbors and friends and a hero to his family. He was a skilled gardener growing all kinds of flowers and vegetables that he either used to make soup for his family and friends or canned for the winter. Rex had a special bond with his oldest grandchild, Dacoda. He cooked crab legs and ribs just for the two of them. Being out in nature and with animals was second to being with his family. Rex enjoyed being on the land and raising cattle on the farm. He created the perfect farm life for his family.

Rex is survived by his mother, Lila Rich; children, Justin Rich and Layna Rich (Branden Huskey); grandchildren, Dacoda Johnson, Harlyn Huskey, and Leonna Huskey; Aunt Shirley Brinegar; brothers, Bart Rich and Dustan Rich (Joni); and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Emily Parker Rich.
