Rebecca N. Felts age 93 passed away Tuesday May 12, 2015. A native of Robertson County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Edwin and Vera Loraine Sanders Felts. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph Felts and Ben Felts, Jr. Ms. Felts is survived by her sisters; Loraine Beasley of Murfreesboro, Sarah Seaman of California, sister-in-law; Margaret (Ringhoff) Felts of Olympia, Washington, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great - great nieces and nephews. Ms. Felts was an educator, having taught every grade from kindergarten through graduate school during her 47 year career. She received her B.A. from San Francisco State University, her M.A. and Ed.S. from George Peabody College. During the later part of her career, she taught Art Education at the university level, retiring as an Assistant Professor Emerita of Curriculum and Instruction in the Art Department at the University of Houston. She was a member of The Texas Art Education Association receiving the Outstanding Art Educator Award for the Higher Education Art Educator in 1986. Visitation will be 10:00am until 12:00 noon Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be held 3:00pm Friday at Orlinda Cemetery in Orlinda, Tennessee with Reverend Paul Edwards officiating.
