READIE McGREW MORTON, age 74, of Murfreesboro died Friday, September 11, 2009. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Edgar and Beatrice Moody Morton, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ruth Morton in June, brothers, Edgar Jr, Nelson and Spain Morton. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. David Humphrey will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his children, Randy (Pam) Morton, Terry (Donna) Morton, Michael Dale Tinker Morton, Brenda (Mike) Walker, Joyce (David) Brothers, sisters, Mary Ann Sewell, Lillie Bernice (John) Walls, brothers, James Jackson (Judy) Morton, Gene Howard (Diane) Morton, 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
