Raymond G. Weldon, age 85 of Smyrna, died Friday at the York VA Medical Center. He was a native of Yukon, Oklahoma and a son of the late C.B. an Esther Weldon. He was also preceded in death by his wife Toni Weldon; a sister, Dorothy Hambrick; and brothers, Bobby Weldon and Charlie Bill Weldon, Jr.

Survivors include a son, Mike Weldon and wife Anna of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Kim Thorne of Christiana; grandsons, Alex, Chris, and Adam Weldon, Kyle Townsend, Garrett and Chandler Thorne, all of Murfreesboro; a great grandson, Michael Townsend of Murfreesboro; one surviving sister, Joanne Weldon, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Mr. Weldon was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War, and a family man who loved spending time with his family in the outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding his four wheeler. He was a self-employed grading contractor most recently working with Ole South Properties.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro. Burial will be in the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
