Obituary

RAYMOND WESLEY MONTGOMERY, age 77, of LaVergne died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Joe Bud and Evie McGowen Montgomery. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe R. Montgomery. Funeral service will be 10:00am Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Rev. Terry Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juanita West Montgomery, daughters, Janet (Eddie) Bowman of Murfreesboro, Julia (Don) Fogg of Smyrna, son, Ronald (Rita) Montgomery of LaVergne, grandchildren, Nick (Tabetha) Harrell of LaVergne, Brooke (Chad) Bousum of Murfreesboro, Lindsey Bowman of Murfreesboro, Robert Montgomery of Burns, and Ryan Montgomery of LaVergne, great grandchildren, Jenna Harrell of LaVergne, and Devin Bousum of Murfreesboro, brothers, William Montgomery, Howard (Francis) Montgomery, and Thurman Montgomery all of LaVergne, sisters, Mai (Campbell) Murphy of LaVergne and Eva (Benny) Sumrall of Smyrna, sister-in-law, Martha Tootie Montgomery of LaVergne. Mr. Montgomery was a member of Giles Creek Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Textron Aerostructures in 1988. Family will serve as pallbearers.
