Mr. Raymond Walter Karr, age 89, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away of natural causes at Community Care of Rutherford County on March 11, 2015. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Karr was preceded in death by all his siblings and his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Lillian Schmidt Karr. Mr. Karr is survived by daughters, Diane K. Bradshaw and her husband Richard of Madison, Alabama, Debbie Lock of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Katherine Rossman and her husband Mike of Bend, Oregon; a son, Dr. Gerald R. Karr and his wife Sandra of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jon Karr, Allison Blessen, Emily Suiter, Laura Droege, Elizabeth Dixon, Audrey Blumber, and Chris Lock; great grandchildren are Eleanor and Charlotte Droege, Lilly Blessen and Soley Karr. During his lifetime he served in the United States Navy Seabees during WWII, was an active member of several non-denominational churches, and worked as a safety engineer for Traveler's Insurance Company until his retirement. Raymond was known for his extensive handyman skills and his sense of humor. The family will have a private memorial service celebrating his life at a later date. Interment will be in Huntsville Memorial Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama on Monday, March 16, 2015 under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
