Ray C. Leonard age 91 of LaVergne passed away October 2, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Melvin and Lula Bean Leonard. He is also preceded in death by two sisters; Louise Leonard, Dorothy Parker and three brothers; Kendall, James, and Charles Leonard. Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday October 6, 2014 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro with Brother Jerry Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife; Helen H. Leonard, daughter; Joanna Funkhouser of Alabama, step-daughters; Patsy Hale of LaVergne, Belinda Frye and her husband Gary of Murfreesboro, a brother; John Leonard and his wife Dot of Ridgetop, sisters; Mary Barrett of Georgia, Elise Haynes of Murfreesboro, Grace Baird of Woodbury, Rebecca Leonard of Murfreesboro, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Leonard was a member of Gilroy Church of Christ and was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp.
