Randall Gene Summar, age 77 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Friday May 3, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Oscar Carl and Mary Katherine Spain Summar. Mr. Summar was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Nichols Summar who died in 1989, and by a daughter, Melanie Faye Summar. Mr. Summar is survived by two daughters, Michelle Pender and her husband Jim of Des Moines, IA, and Melody Summar Wrather of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Carl David Summar and his wife Sharon, Maron Summar and his wife Jodi all of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Wes Wrather and his wife Sarah of Tampa, FL, Blake Wrather and his wife Miranda of Newport News, VA, Hollie Wrather of Murfreesboro, TN, Justina Wiltsie-Pender, Mike, Brandon, Lacey, and Rachel Pender all of Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Noah Wrather both of Newport News, VA, and a host of other family who loved and cared for him, especially his nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. F. Murray Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with nephews and great-nephews serving as pallbearers. Mr. Summar spent most of his life attending Powell's Chapel Baptist Church, but most recently was a member of Third Baptist Church. He was a dairy farmer in Rutherford County, and also retired from Greyhound. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Summar.
