RAMSEY O. WALKER, M.D. son of Charlie & Mary E. Walker, Jr. and Jacqueline Ramsey passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the age of 48 at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a veteran of the United States Army, a Physician having graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. and received his Medical Degree from Meherry Medical College of Nashville. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Terri Walker; son Hunter Walker; daughter, Alyx Walker all of Murfreesboro; step mother, Mary E. Walker, Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Angella Diawara of Murfreesboro, Charlene Brinkley of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mickii Smith of Jacksonville, Fla. and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 6 pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kendall C. Wright officiating. Burial will follow at 11 am Monday at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation with the family will be after 5 pm Sunday. Pallbearers will be Andrew Geiger, Andre Geiger, Rashaud Pope, Mark Hunter, Phillip Walker and Gray Hemphill. Memorials in memory of Dr. Walker may be made to Fisk University or Morehouse College.
