Obituary

Ralph E. Swineford, age 73, of Fayetteville, TN died Friday, February 4, 2011 at Centennial Hospital. A native of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, he was the son of the late Lee Albert and Edna Irene Scholl Swineford. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Swineford and sister, Elsie Swineford. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bob Bush will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Swineford is survived by his wife, Nancy McClanahan Swineford; sons and daughters in law, Mike and Amy Swineford of Herndon, VA, Mark and Judy Swineford of Tucson, AZ, and Shawn and Judy Swineford of Moreno Valley, CA; six grandchildren, Rachel, Alex, Josh, Kara Swineford, Nichole and Sarah Falkenberg; two great grandchildren, Spencer and Shane Falkenberg; two brothers and sisters in law, Leroy Skip and Gladys Swineford of Port Trevorton, PA and Walter and Lois Swineford of Milton, PA; and a sister and brother in law, Marie and Bob Kline of Liverpool, PA. Mr. Swineford was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a retired master sergeant with the United States Air Force and served in three tours during the Vietnam War receiving an Air Medal and two Air Force Accommodation Medals. Mr. Swineford later retired as a senior manager of production for the C-17 with Boeing Aircraft. While at Boeing he received numerous awards. He was a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Fayetteville. Pallbearers will be Jim, Sam, Keith and Kevin McClanahan, Ed Pittenger and Alex Swineford, honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bill Hughes, Dr. John Barton, and Matt Kratz. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL.
