Rachel Ready Wood, age 102 of Readyville TN died Monday July 24, 2023, and was a native of Readyville Community. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom King Wood and parents, Willie Ready and Mattie Payton Ready, three sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Wood was the oldest member of New Hope Church of Christ and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the oldest living Kittrell High School graduate.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Wood and wife Mary, Bobby Wood and wife Judy, Dr. Samuel Wood; daughters, Jean Harrison, Mary Ross; 13 Grandchildren, and 12 Great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:00AM until 11:00AM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Ralph Richardson and Bro. Herb Alsup will be officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. www.woodfinchapel.com
