Rachel Jones, age 89 of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday at Community Care of Rutherford County. Mrs. Jones was a native of Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late Grady and Evalyn Duggin Summar. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 68 years, Howard Jones; a daughter Linda Carol Roper of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren Victoria Coronel, Carol Bennett, Julia Peck, Jamie Bilbrey and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Jones had previously been a member of First Baptist Church but most recently was a member of Barfield Baptist Church where as a teenager she served as the church pianist. Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2014 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Reverends Ron Byers and Noel Schoonmaker officiating.
