Rachel Jeannette White Brown, age 87 of Murfreesboro, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Rockmart, GA and the daughter of the late Roscoe Newton and Agnes Dobbs White. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Carlyle Jennings and her second husband, Dr. Frederick F. Brown, Jr. and her sister, Ruth White Goldin. She is survived by her son, Louis Carlyle Jennings, Jr and his wife Elizabeth Holden Jennings of Murfreesboro, daughters, Rebecca Ellis Jennings of Birmingham, AL, and Ruth Jennings Bouldin and her husband G. Sumner R. Bouldin, Jr. of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Louis Carlyle Jennings, III, William Alexander Jennings and his wife Elizabeth Bragg Jennings, Rachel Jennings Riddle Culver and her husband James Rudie Culver, Jr., Newton Butler Jennings and his wife Shauna Ales Jennings, Thomas Holden Jennings and his wife Caitlin Roberts Jennings, Ellis Carlyle Jennings and Granville Sumner Ridley Bouldin, III; great-grandchildren Carlie Grace Jennings, Caledonia Jane Culver and James Rudie Culver, III. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mufreesboro. She attended Carson-Newman College. She was a founding member of the Murfreesboro/Rutherford County League of Women Voters, and member of Charity Circle of Murfreesboro, Craddock Study Club, The Book Club, Woman's Club and Oaklands Association. Visitation with the family will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro at 265 West Thompson Lane. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at a later date in Rockmart, GA.
