R. L. Morgan, age 86, passed away August 3, 2013. A native of Springfield, TN he was a longtime resident of Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucy Dickens Morgan; his wife, Mildred Meador Morgan; and eight siblings. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00PM at Hillview Baptist Church. Brother Charles McKnight and Brother Owen Ivory will officiate. Burial will follow in Republican Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00PM to 3:00PM at Hillview Baptist Church. Mr. Morgan is survived by his son, Phillip Morgan and his wife Lisa and daughter Nancy Zamora and her husband John all of Murfreesboro; along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Morgan was a member and a deacon emeritus of Hillview Baptist Church. He was a self-employed electrical contractor and also worked as a contractor with S&W. Dillon Lee, Steven Lee, Steve Martin, Larry Bugg, Brad Bugg, Rick Kurtz, Ed Jernigan, and Gary Pitts will serve as pallbearers. Wayne Propes, David Puckett, Jimmy Moore, Richard Moore, Bill Smith, Thomas Holton, David Eubanks, Darwin Griva and Wendell Bolin will serve as honorary pallbearers.
