Phillip L. Ray of Murfreesboro, formerly of Lawrenceburg, began his eternal life in Heaven at the age of 88 on January 9, 2018.

Phillip, originally from Cornersville, TN, served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He attended Columbia Business College, and moved to Summertown, TN where he married Mary Ann Pyles. He retired from the Murray Ohio plant in Lawrenceburg, TN in 1992, and they moved to Murfreesboro in 2004 to be closer to their son and grandchildren who were his joy in life.

Mr. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, George Andrew Ray and Bertha Lou Ketchum Ray, and brothers, Sidney Ray, Delwyn Ray, and Douglas Ray. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Ray; son, Tony Ray; and grandsons, Camden Ray and Easton Ray, all of Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
