Phillip Owen “P.O.” Florida, age 95, of Lascassas, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2026. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lascassas, TN. Mr. Florida was preceded in death by his parents, the late Earl Lindsley and Verna Madge Martin Florida. He was also preceded in death by his seven brothers and their wives, Earl Jr. (Emily), J.R. (Martha Lynn), Ralph (Sara), Kenneth (Ophelia), Wallace (Ann), Ed (Joyce), and Brynce (Ruth) Florida.
Mr. Florida is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Rhea Bugg Florida, and three children; Lynn (Mike) Vaught, Phyllis (Ricky) Knight, and Brent (Jessica) Florida; five grandchildren; Phillip (Alanna) Vaught, Laura Vaught, Ben Vaught, Anne Marie Florida, and Thomas Florida; great grandchildren, John Buyrl Neely and Jess Michael Vaught, and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
Mr. Florida was a member of Lascassas Baptist Church. He graduated from Lascassas High School and served in the National Guard prior to his 34 years of service with Tennessee Farmers Cooperative. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He was a loving father and will be missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to express deepest gratitude to the exceptional team of caregivers under the leadership of Yolanda Davis for the compassionate love and care at home until the very end.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Kenneth Summey will officiate.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with nephews and great-nephews serving as active pallbearers.
