Philip "Phlip" Mankin, Jr., age 50, of LaVergne died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. He was a native of Murfreesboro and the son of Philip and Martha Caffy Mankin, Sr. of LaVergne who survive him. In addition to his parents he is survived by his children Erin and Corey Mankin of Nashville; a sister Dawn Mankin and her husband Richard Andrews; a nephew Ryan Mankin and a niece Terra Andrews all of Smyrna; special friend Melissa Gore Wilson of LaVergne and a host of other loving family, friends and his faithful companion Missy the Beagle. Mr. Mankin was a carpenter for T.W. Frierson Contractors, Inc. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
