Peggy Wenger Miller, age 89 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2026 in her loving home surrounded by family.
Peggy was born on August 24, 1936 in Houston, Mississippi to Donald Earnest and Suzette Pyron Wenger. Her family moved to Atlanta, GA for Peggy's younger years before moving to Montgomery, AL where she graduated from Sydney Lanier High School in 1952. Peggy attended Stetson University in Deland, FL and Huntington College in Montgomery, AL where she studied Elementary Education and Music.
Peggy had two beautiful children with her first husband while starting her family in Winston-Salem, NC. Peggy adored being a mother and cherished her son, Donald Howard and daughter, Allyson Loraine. Soon after her daughter was born, the family moved to Murfreesboro, TN where they set down roots and established wonderful friendships. Peggy excelled in creating a loving home to raise her children in. Peggy was involved in the community where she taught in the primary Sunday School department at First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, helped start the Christian Women's Club, was an active member in the Charity Circle and a member of Craddock Book Club.
In 1983 Peggy married William C. Miller "Billy" who she loved and spent the rest of her life as his loving and devoted wife. Billy was an exceptionally wonderful husband to Peggy during their 37 years of marriage together.
Peggy was known for her beauty inside and out, she was an incredible hostess with a reputation for her wonderful recipes, she showed her love by rolling out the red carpet anytime someone came to visit, especially at Christmas. She was a quiet servant of the Lord, being the first to bring a meal to someone in a time of need or be a listening ear and a warmth of comfort for anyone who needed her. She loved her family dearly, was proud and kept up with all her grandchildren and later on her great grandchildren. Her sweet smile, precious heart and hospitality will be greatly missed.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Miller "Billy" and daughter, Allyson Young George. As well as her nephew Eric Newman Flanagan and brother in law Lawrence Newman Flanagan.
She is survived by her son, Donald Howard Young "Don" & wife Laura of Wesley Chaple, FL, son in law John David George "David" of Birmingham, AL. Grandchildren, Kyle David George (Lynne) of Troy, AL, Katelyn George Bruhn (Mitchell) of Birmingham, AL, Kevin Howard Young (Amanda) of Wesley Chaple, FL and Steven Brooks Young of Sterling, VA. Great Grandchildren, Teagan Young, Paxtyn Young, Grayson George and Graham George. Sister Larraine Wenger Flanagan of Lascassas, TN and nephew Lawrence Gregory Flanagan "Greg" (Denise) of Lascassas, TN and great niece Kaylee Newman Flanagan.
With her precious marriage to Billy she is also survived by his loving children, Laura Miller Follis (Mark), Mary Lynn Miller, William Crawford "Bill" Miller Jr. (Kim), & David Clark Miller (Kathy). Grandchildren Rachel Follis Dominy (Nathaniel), Caroline Miller Follis, Hayley Frances Miller and Great Granddaughter Maggie Dominy.
A service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Murfreesboro, TN on Tuesday, September 1st with visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 12:00 PM. Rev. Dr. John Hinkle will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Murfreesboro or Alzheimer's Association , in memory of her daughter.
