Peggy Caffey Weeks, age 90 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 . She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Carmack and Willie Pearl Norris Caffey and sister Dorothy "Tuck" Ferguson.

She is survived by sons Terry (Mary) Weeks and Roger (Kimla) Weeks; daughters Joann (Bobby) Kavanaugh and Teresa (Jeff) Summar; granddaughters Jennifer (Tony) Gentry and Holly (Derek)Tilford; grandsons Matt Kavanaugh and Dustin (Hollie) Summar; great grandchildren: Logan Gentry, Max Kavanaugh, and Duke and Tucker Tilford; sisters Barbara (Dorris) Wallace, Margaret (David) Jenkins and Pam (Danny) Rollins; brothers Charlie (Judy) Caffey, Ed (Janet) Caffey, and Gary (Diane) Caffey.

Peggy attended Kittrell School where she played basketball and developed friendships that she treasured throughout her life. Initial employment was at White Stag in Murfreesboro and later at Heatcraft, Inc., from where she retired. Much of her life was devoted to the raising and care of her four children.

She was a faithful member of Murfreesboro First United Methodist Church for many years.

She always had a smile, a good sense of humor and a positive outlook.

The children wish to express their gratitude to Fred Halfpap, Executive Director, First United Methodist Church; Blair Leyhew of Kindred Palliative Care; caregivers Belinda Ferrell and Linda Puffenbarger; and the physicians/nurses/technicians at Alive Hospice for the care and support they provided for their mother.

Due to a genuine concern for the safety and well-being of loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service for family and friends will be held at First United Methodist Church with face masks and social distancing required.
