Mr. Paul Elijah Skaggs, age 97, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was born in the Fox Bluff Community of Cheatham County, TN to the late Andrew Jackson and Amie Tinsley Skaggs. Mr. Skaggs owned Star Fence Company and Skaggs Flowers and Greenhouses. He attended Family Worship Center and New Vision Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the battleship U.S.S. Nevada during World War II.

Mr. Skaggs is survived by his four children, Suzanne Scott and her husband Thomas of Murfreesboro, Mark Skaggs and his wife Jolene of Smyrna, TN, Rosemary Marlin and her husband Preston of Murfreesboro, and Valerie Allen of Murfreesboro; half-brother, Tom Smith and his wife Lenora of Denver, CO; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen Miller Skaggs; great-grandson, Quinn Wigley; son-in-law, Paul Allen; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, June 8, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Phillip Robinson will officiate. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
