PAUL EVERETT GARNER, age 78, of Murfreesboro, Tn. died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Bridgeport, Alabama and was the son of the late Louis & Mary Evans Garner. He is survived by his loving wife, Ila Jean Garner; son, Paul (Holly) Garner, Jr of Murfreesboro; daughters, Kathy (Russell) Timmons, of Nashville and Karen (Tim) Findley of Murfreesboro; stepsons, Larry (Linda) Barrett, of Nashville and Kenneth Barrett of Charleston, S. C.; step daughter, Pat (Howard) Davis of Murfreesboro; brother, Melvin Garner of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Geraldine Robinson of Cartersville, Georgia; three grandchildren, five step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Wayne Lankford officiating. Burial with full military rites at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 4-7 pm Friday with Masonic Services to follow at 7 pm Friday. Mr. Garner was previously married to the late Addie Carolyn McMinn Garner who died in 2003. Mr. Garner was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Korean and Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ and was retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service. He was a Mason and member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge, member of the American Legion Post 141, member of NARFE, an avid gardener, a lover of sports especially football and was a devoted husband and loving father who was very kind and generous to everyone.
