Obituary

Paul Cook, age 74, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, December 28, 2012. Mr. Cook was a native of Rutherford County and son of the late Esten and Clara Davis Cook. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dean Sisk and Rev. Adam Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cook is survived by his wife Martha Halliburton Cook; sons Trevor L. Cook and his wife Annette of Gaithersburg, MD, Paul A. Cook of Nashville, Eric Esten Cook and his wife Karen of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Esten Joseph Cook, Catherine Pauline Cook, Anna Kay Cook, and Esten Ryan Cook. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by five brothers Esten, Clifford, George, James and John Cook, and one sister Ina Lee Harrell. Mr. Cook was a 1957 graduate of Central High School, and served as Sgt. in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He served as Sgt. on the Murfreesboro City Police Force from 1960 until 1965. He retired as Lt. from the Tennessee State Highway Patrol in 1995 following 30 years of service. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Church. Visitation will be 2:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday, December 30 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Hope Center Ministry or the Church Youth Ministry at Belle Aire Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Cook. Online condolences can be made at www.woodfinchapel.com 893-5151.
