Obituary

Patsy Burch Monroe, 85, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, July 1 at home surrounded by family and friends. Patsy lived most of her life in Hattiesburg, MS, before relocating in 2005 to Murfreesboro, TN to be near family. Patsy was the daughter of the late Kirby and Gertrude Burch and the wife of the late Ira Lafayette Monroe, Jr. She is survived by two daughters: Beckie (Stuart) Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Beth (widow of David) Foltz, of Houston, TX; four granddaughters: Kendall Johnson of Tampa, FL, Kirby Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Sarah and Kallie Foltz of Houston, TX, and one precious dog named Missy (see photo above), all of whom will miss her dearly. A native of Brookhaven, MS, Patsy had four passions: faith, family, friends and food. Her desserts were legendary and included Patsys pralines, whipping cream pound cake and an unbelievable caramel cake. She was an active member of Belle Aire Baptist Church and Community Bible Study in Murfreesboro until illness forced her to limit her activities. Services will be held in Murfreesboro at Woodfin Memorial Chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. Visitation will be held before the service from 12:30 " 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Hattiesburg, MS, on Tuesday, July 5 at Highland Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. A visitation with the family will be held before the service from 10 " 11 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
