Patricia Dougherty Burns, age 78, of Rockvale, died April 5, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Jackson County Georgia and daughter of the late Eugene B. Dougherty and Mary Williamson Dougherty Shell. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Morgan Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Burns Family Cemetery. Mrs. Burns is survived by her husband Charles I. Burns; three daughters, Dixie Burns, Crystal (Larry) Leathers, and Patricia (Billy Joe) Johnson all of Rockvale; Brother, Mike (Lynn) Dougherty of Athens, Georgia; three grandchildren, B.J. Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Patrick Leathers. Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her son, Charles I. Chuck Burns Jr. She was a member of the Rockvale Church of God. She was a 1949 graduate of Benton County High School in Nicholson, Georgia and was the secretary at I. P. Burns and Son Feed, Seed and Fertilizer in Rockvale for many years. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. 893-5151.
