Paris Gaylon "P.G.' Jones, age 71 of Murfreesboro died Wednesday January 14, 2015at Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. He was a native of Dizeny KY and was preceded in death by parents, Paul and China Jump Jones; mother and father-in-law Rachel and Finley Thomas, a daughter Sharon Lynn Jones, two brothers Darrell and Robert Jones, two brothers-in-law Harold and Arville Thomas. Mr. Jones was a member and longtime deacon of Scenic Drive Baptist Church. He was a retired Truck Driver with Consolidated Freightways and a member of Teamster Local 100. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nell Naomi Thomas Jones; daughters, Teresa Spurlock and husband Bill of Murfreesboro, Sheila Duckworth and husband Jeb of LaVergne; grandchildren, Brad Decker and wife Ashley of Murfreesboro, Jessica Pope of LaVergne, Erica Pope of Smyrna, Sean Pope and wife Brittani of Hendersonville, Candace Spurlock of Murfreesboro; great grandchildren, Eli (Pope) Matthews, Tristen Pope, Braylon Decker; brothers, Travis and Ira Jones of Milton KY; niece Fama Jones of Danville, KY; brothers-in-law Robert Thomas and wife Wanda and Jim Thomas of Rockholds, KY, Marvin Thomas and wife Diane of Liberty, IN, Kenneth Thomas of Milford, OH; sisters-in-law Betty Philpot and Wilma Noe of Rockholds, KY, Ruth Burkhart of Elizabethtown, KY; Henrietta McFarland of Goshen, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Scenic Drive Baptist Church, 6515 Scenic Dr. Murfreesboro TN 37129. Rev. Jack Wood will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery, family and friends will be pallbearers. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Scenic Drive Baptist Church.
