MRS. OTTLEY SMOTHERMAN HALL, age 89 of Rockvale, Tn. died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was born in Bedford County and was the daughter of the late James Alton & Mizzie Puckett Lovvorn. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Smotherman who died in 1971 and her second husband, Clifford Hall who died in 2006. Graveside services will be at 11 am Saturday at Whitworth Cemetery with Darryl Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitworth Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 3-8 pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughters, Thelma (C. J.) Bryant, Rockvale, Bertha Smotherman, Murfreesboro, Betty (Emmett) Bowling, Lascassas and Nancy (Fratos) Davis, Murfreesboro; son, Fred (April) Smotherman, Christiana; step daughter, Virginia (Bill) Fleming, Murfreesboro; brother, Sam Lovvorn, Washington, Georgia; sisters, Mae Lovvorn, Shelbyville and Dorothy Christopher, Winchester, Tn.; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her son, James Smotherman. She was a member of Cresent Church of Christ and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
