Opal L. Bissinger age 87 of Smyrna, passed away Thursday November 27, 2014. A native of Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Willie Clark Gossett. She is also preceded in death by her husband Wallace Bissinger, daughter; Vivian Cook, son; Wendell Bissinger, and granddaughter; Terri Renee Cook. Mrs. Bissinger is survived by her daughter; Audrey Doremus and her husband Lonnie of Smyrna, sons; Larry Bissinger and his wife Terri of Norfolk, Virginia, Garland Bissinger and his wife Paula of Brentwood, Michael Bissinger and his wife Connie of Murfreesboro, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers; Leamon Gossett of Murfreesboro, Robert Gossett, and J. W. Gossett and his wife Christine all of Smyrna. Mrs. Bissinger was a member of Leanna Church of Christ. She retired from Smyrna High School as a Cafeteria Worker. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00pm at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Brother Kevin Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Chris Reid, Matt Miller, Matt Bissinger, Garland Bissinger, Lonnie Doremus, and Michael Bissinger serving as pallbearers.
