OLIVER BOSWELL ELLIOTT, Bob Elliott, Sr., age 86 of Murfreesboro, TN went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 18, 2010 after an extended illness. Mr. Elliott was born in Junction City, GA and he was the son of the late Leonard Thomas and Edna Boswell Elliott. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Christine Tena Hand Elliott. Mr. Elliott is survived by sons, Bob (Teresa) Elliott of Murfreesboro, TN, Richard (Cindy) Elliott of Bedford, TX, Bill (Susan) Elliott of Smyrna, TN; daughters Sheri (Jarrett) Eschenfelder of Murfreesboro, TN, and Chris (Bill) Rhodes of Murfreesboro, TN; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Elliott was a veteran of WW II having served in the Army Air Corp. He was a retired business owner of Clover Greenhouses in Smyrna, TN. He was a member of the Smyrna Rotary Club from 1976 until he retired in 1991. He was also a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. During his retirement years, he and Tena volunteered with the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) helping countries develop hydroponic growing systems. He and Tena were the recipients of the 1992 Frank Pace Award for Volunteer Executives of the Year. He was an active member of Fellowship United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Morris officiating. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Elliott.
