Odell Messick Mankin age 86 of Shelbyville, formally of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Murphy and Udie Fox Messick. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Rucker Mankin; grandson, Joel David Jernigan; sister, Irene Pipkin; and six brothers: Glen, S.P., Murphy Jr., Sam, James, and John Messick. Mrs. Mankin is survived by her daughter, Patsy Morris and her husband Ray Morris of Normandy, TN, and three grandchildren: Jackie Roberson of Culleoka, Tammy Spooner and her husband Scott of Murfreesboro, Stephanie Taylor of Smyrna, and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mankin was a member of Woodbury Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Billy Joe Calvert officiating.
