Octavia Allman Pate, age 96 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Pruitt and Maggie Jacobs Allman. Mrs. Pate was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Powell Pate; sisters, Virginia Waite, Tommie Johns, Bettie Mai Smith, and Pauline Beesley; and a brother, S. J. Allman, Sr. Mrs. Pate is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Eakes; granddaughter, Amanda Eakes, and great-grandson, Brennen Eakes all of Murfreesboro, TN. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 PM Saturday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Eugene Cotey and Rev. Pam Pilot officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Pate was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Senior Fund in memory of Mrs. Pate.
