Mrs. Novella B. (Sally) McClanahan, age 88, of Murfreesboro died Friday at Community Care of Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Casto & Vergie Anderson Norris. She was originally from Peel Chestnut, Tn. She is survived by her sons, Thomas McClanahan and his wife, Linda of Murfreesboro, William McClanahan and his wife, Shirley of Winchester, Tn.; brother, Clyde Norris of Franklin; grandchildren Dr. Claire Lin Bone and husband Michael of Knoxville, C. LeAnn McClanahan of Woodbury, Christopher L. McClanahan and wife, Chloe of St. Louis, MO, William (Bill) McClanahan and wife Christina of Columbia; Alicia McClanahan of Cookeville and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Russell Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4-7 pm Sunday. Mrs. McClanahan was married to the late H. Hampton McClanahan who died in 2004. She was a member of the Bellwood Church of Christ and was a restaurant and motel owner/operator in Murfreesboro, Tn. for over 45 years.
