April 14, 1929 – April 14, 2021
Norma Lea Slater was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on her birthday, April 14, 2021, at age 92. Norma is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Florence Hecker, her husband Harry E. Slater, her sister Dot Small, and one half-brother Don Slingluff.
Norma was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania on April 14, 1929. After graduating from high school, she found her lifelong love, Harry Slater, on a romantic whim during a prearranged blind date. They created a beautiful home and family together and traveled the world during Harry's military service, having four beautiful children.
Norma is survived by her sister Bonnie Kimmy, her four children and their families – Jennifer Gail Slater, Paula Fowler, Tim and Jami Slater, Tom and Leigh Anne, and grand-dog, Otis Slater; 8 grandchildren – Paul, Samantha, Zackery, Lucas, Jackie, Curtis, Stacy, and Todd, and 16 great grandchildren
Norma loved spending time at home creating a caring and loving environment for her children, husband, and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday April 20, 2021 at the Rose & Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, Pennsylvania ( www.roseandblack FH.com) with interment to follow immediately in Hadley, Pennsylvania.
