Nolan Lamar Emmett, age 67, of Smyrna, TN, died on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. A native of Gainesville, GA, he was the son of the late John C. and Florence Hulsey Emmett Jr. Mr. Emmett was also preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Adams Emmett; and brother, Richard Emmett.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Minister Michael Grandieson will officiate. Burial will follow in Ross and Cunningham Cemetery.
Mr. Emmett is survived by his children, Lori Hannington and her husband Jason of Murfreesboro, TN, Regina White and her husband Eddie of Watertown, TN, and Nick Emmett and his wife Tiffani of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren, Caitlin Pollard, Alex and Justin Emmett, Zech Al-Ghanem, Sheyenne Hannington, and Jeffery Bing; great-grandchildren, Chloe Hurst and A.J. Emmett; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to thank special friends, Jim Pickett and Jeffrey Price for their love and support given to Mr. Emmett.
Mr. Emmett was of the Christian faith. He was a Tool and Dye maker and a Boiler Operator with the Lane Company in Smyrna for many years. He also was a School Bus Driver with Rutherford County Schools for many years. Mr. Emmett was known for his love of the outdoors and you could often find him in a deer stand or fishing at the lake. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
James Otis Toombs, Jim Pickett, Michael Hackney, Justin Emmett, Zech Al-Ghanem, David Grimes, David Laidig, and Hollis Brewer will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
